2Mathematical modeling of drug Removal by using TiO2 as Photo Catalysis.
Author’s Details: (1)Saleh Sulaiman-(1)Chemistry Department, Birzeit University, Birzeit, P.O. Box 14, Ramallah, West Bank, Palestine.

Abstract: The occurrence, fate and effects of Pharmaceuticals compounds (PhCs) in the environmental system have been attracted special attention recently as new emerging contaminants due to their potential impact on humans, animals and microorganisms even at low concentrations. Conventional wastewater treatment technologies, including biological, thermal and physical treatments, are found to be insufficient for removal of many pharmaceuticals residues from wastewater, due to their low biodegradability and high chemical stability. Advanced oxidation processes (AOPs), are one of the most promising treatment technologies for elimination of such relentless compounds. In developing and further understanding of photo catalytic processes, there are two major approaches: The first one is to build up laboratory / pilot scale process, and the second one is to use commercial software. Unfortunately, in the last case of the drug removal by TiO2 photo catalytic process there is no commercial software able to predict the behavior of the drug removing by using the photo catalytic process.
In order to start building software that can describe the photo catalytic process a mathematical model in this study is proposed and illustrated.Mathematical modeling can be defined as a tool that uses mathematical language to describe a physical system, which is not only used in the natural sciences and engineering disciplines but also in the social sciences. So mathematical modeling is: “a representation of the essential aspects of an existing system (or a system to be constructed) which presents knowledge of that system in usable form”. Based on these definitions the main objective of the mathematical modeling is to describe (mathematically) the different aspects of the real world, the interactions, and the dynamics.

3) The Impact of Low Salaries on Teacher Motivation: The Case for Mutasa District-Zimbabwe.
Author Details: Sango Mesheck G. (Dr)-Zimbabwe Open University; Nyatanga Elisha K- Zimbabwe Open University; Saruchera Kenneth, J-Zimbabwe Open University

Abstract:
This study sort to find out the extent to which teachers were motivated to carry out teaching tasks given the low salaries and incentives they were being paid by the state. A survey design was used so as to widen the reach to teachers’ views. Data were collected through self administered questionnaires distributed to 36 teachers. In addition, more data were generated through in-depth interviews with 10 school Heads. The study found out that: teachers were intrinsically motivated by their engagement in teaching and learning as well as seeing the children learn; parents were paying monetary incentives to the teachers; teachers were not motivated by the low monetary incentives they got from parents. The study, therefore, concluded that teachers were functioning more on intrinsic motivation deriving from the joy of engaging in teaching and learning as well as seeing the children learn. It is, therefore recommended that school leaders could maximise opportunity for intrinsic motivation through improving teaching and learning conditions. Also, Parents could add non monetary incentives in their attempt to improve current level of extrinsic satisfaction among teachers.

Author’s Details: (1) Franco Muleya (2) Sunday Nwaubani – 1Lecturer, The Copperbelt University, School of Built Environment, Department of Construction Economics and Management, Jambo Drive, P.O. Box 21692, Kitwe, Zambia, (corresponding author) 2Former Senior Lecturer and Pathway Leader for Civil Engineering, Department of Built Environment, Faculty of Science and Technology, Anglia Ruskin University, Cambridge and Chelmsford, CM1 1SQ, UK

Abstract: Cement is an important material used in the production of many concrete based building elements. Despite its importance, the production costs and unit price are high. Cement is also a potential hazardous material. This experimental study considered the effect of partially replacing cement content in concrete by 30% with Pulverised Fuel Ash (PFA) referred to as fly ash. The study further considered the effect of introducing 4% Superplasticiser (SP) to the OPC based concrete. Three different mix designs where formulated. The first one was based on Ordinary Portland Cement (OPC) as a control mix; the second mix was based on Ordinary Portland Cement mixed with PFA while the third one had Ordinary Portland Cement and Superplasticiser (SP). Results indicated that introducing 30% PFA to the OPC based mix reduced the concrete compressive strength at 28 days by an average of 27% for low water cement ration concrete. Adding superplasticiser to the OPC based concrete reduced the concrete compressive strength by 7%. The study concluded that replacing up to 30% of cement in concrete with PFA could reduce concrete production costs on a project while retaining the acceptable levels of concrete strength, density and workability. Adding superplasticiser showed that the water content can be significantly reduced with minimal effect on concrete strength and density. The superplasticiser showed significant effect on the concrete workability.

Abstract: Sutural bones are usually small, irregularly shaped ossicles, often found in the sutures of the cranium, especially those in relation with the parietal bones. Their size, shape and number vary from skull to skull. The asterion corresponds to the site of the posterolateral (mastoid) fontanelle of the neonatal skull which closes at the end of the first year. The asterion is the junction of the parietal, temporal and occipital bones. During the routine osteology demonstration class for undergraduate students, five Wormian bones were noted at the asterion in an adult skull. The asterion is a surgical landmark to the transverse sinus location which is of great importance in the surgical approaches to the posterior cranial fossa. The study of asterion may be helpful to ENT and Neurosurgeons.
