2) Cognitive Distortions, Social Comparison, and Anticipatory Anxiety as Determinants of Employee Well-Being and Organizational Performance: An Integrated Job Demands–Resources Based Conceptual Framework
Author Details: Md. Momin-National University, Bangladesh – Email: md.momin.nu.bd.2025@gmail.com

Abstract:
Employee well-being and organizational performance are increasingly influenced by internal psychological mechanisms beyond structural and economic determinants. This conceptual paper develops an integrative framework combining Cognitive Behavioral Theory, Social Comparison Theory, and the Job Demands–Resources (JD-R) model to explain how cognitive distortions, maladaptive social comparison, and anticipatory anxiety jointly shape employee psychological well-being and organizational outcomes. The proposed framework argues that these cognitive-emotional mechanisms operate in a cyclical feedback loop that increases emotional exhaustion, reduces job satisfaction, and impairs performance. By integrating clinical cognitive psychology with organizational behavior theory, this study contributes to understanding hidden psychological drivers of workplace dysfunction and offers implications for human resource management and organizational intervention strategies.
